Access to Safe Drinking Water for 2,000 Students in Uganda

Sensiblue—working with The Global Uplift Project (TGUP), Nsawo Community Development Project (NCDP), and a U.S. donor— has installed its new Sensiblue S4 water purifiers at four schools in Uganda, bringing reliable, electricity-free safe drinking water to nearly 2,000 students and staff.

  • Health impact: E. coli risk reduced to 0 CFU/100 ml after treatment.
  • Low maintenance: Pre-filter ~every 6 months; ~55,000 L between 1 kg salt refills.
  • Longevity: Systems designed to run ~10 years with minimal upkeep.
  • Cost:€1,000 per school (incl. 10 years of supplies) ≈ €0.20/child/year (for 500 students).

“This isn’t just an Africa solution — it’s a universal one… no electricity needed, minimal maintenance, maximum reliability.” - Wirijn Tholen, CEO, Sensiblue
